"You Want Me To Do What to My Knitting?!" An Introduction to Steeks

Homework

Snip snip snip! Terrified about cutting up your knitting? You won't be after taking this class! Get your homework done and be ready for some fun!

Description
Cutting your knitting may seem the stuff of nightmares, but when you're in a controlled environment and following a few simple steps, it's a tool that makes stranded knitting a dream. In this workshop you'll face your fears while learning the skills required to steek knitted fabric, and you'll explore the necessary steps to create a beautifully finished edge. Once you've learned a few ways to divide the fabric, you'll continue the adventure by learning how to install a zipper by hand.

Supplies
Please bring worsted-weight, solid-color wool in the colors of your swatch; a second partial ball in a color that complements/contrasts with the swatches; circular knitting needles one size smaller than those used for the homework swatch; and your knitting bag filled with the usual treasures.
