About Kyle Kunnecke

Kyle Kunnecke leads a busy life as an artist, designer, and educator,
working in media as varied as the social issues he supports. From advocating for the adoption of foster pets to raising awareness of HIV/AIDS and breast cancer, he takes time to ensure each person viewing his work leaves with a better understanding of their world.

"The most important lesson that can be learned in life is we can do anything we want if we set our minds to it," Kyle reminds us.  "If you are interested in trying something out, or learning about something, then stop thinking about it and go do it!  Donate time at a food bank, learn to knit, join a running group, participate in your neighborhood watch or help at an animal rescue!  There are many opportunities for us to do good things in our lives; take the time to share your talents and ambitions with those around you and it'll make the world an even more amazing place!"

Feeling strongly about the connection between knitting and knowledge, Kyle began designing a series of patterns that raise money for deserving nonprofit organizations while simultaneously providing educational
materials about important social issues. His works have won numerous awards and pieces can be found in private collections all over North America.

Kyle lives in San Francisco with his cats, Wink and Willow and when he’s not knitting, finds time to work as an HIV counselor.
