Sanquhar Gloves
Vogue Knitting Magazine| Spring/Summer, 2017
Paying Homage to the iconic knitters of Sanquhar, these heirloom gloves celebrate their heritage with two-color checker patterning, bi-color ribbing, and a customizable band where initials can be added to personalize the gloves.
The sample gloves also feature the technique of locked floats; securing the unused (floating) yarn every 2nd stitch of the same color. Using this technique creates a lovely glove interior that promises not to snag. This project is worked in the round and requires knitting knowledge including: knit/purl, two colored knitting, managing (or locking) floats, working in the round, and reading charts; all on double pointed needles.
