Maras Wrap
Cast On Magazine| November-January, 2016

During an excursion into the Sacred Valley outside of Cusco, Peru, we asked our driver to take us somewhere for lunch. He drove us to a small town and we were guided into a hidden gem of a restaurant. While waiting for our food, I noticed the bold geometric patterning on the floor and my mind began to ponder how this simple, repeating pattern might translate into a knitted wrap. Because of its simple, linear design I thought that this pattern would feel wonderfully contemporary as a rectangular wrap. When choosing the yarn, I decided on Cascade Roslyn because the silk adds a tweedy effect so similar to the stippling of the linoleum tiles.

Yarn | Cascade Yarns ROSLYN (100g/3.5oz, 350m/382.76yds, 65% Wool, 35% Silk): 3 skeins #17 Silver (MC), 2 skeins #16 Black (CC)

Needles |Size 6 (4.0 mm) 16" (40cm) circular and DPNs or size to obtain gauge

Finished Size | Approximately 28" wide x 60" long, after blocking
