Locking the unused (floating) yarn in stranded knitting every other stitch creates a gorgeous back that almost appears woven. This tutorial video demonstrates locked floats when working the right side (or in the round) using two colors.
Joining Knitting in the Round
Ever wondered how to join knitting in the round after casting on? Here's a simple video showing you the "trick" to a seamless join. There are other ways to make this join "seamless" including knitting without using my "trick", then weaving the tail of the yarn across the join. I find this technique, however, gives a beautiful join every time.
