I just received the first prototype for my metal yarn bowls - this one is aluminum - let me know your thoughts - what would you change?  Once we get the design part figured out they will be made in some artistic finishes and offered for sale - online (through my website) as well as through local yarn shops - and with any luck, if there is interest, we'll be selling them to yarn shops across the U.S.A. -  but that's later.  Right now, we have to find out if anyone is interested in a metal yarn bowl :)

Let me know!

I really like the metal yarn bowl. I think it will look great on the coffee table, filled with yarn, while I'm working on a project!

Oh my... that's just lovely.

How wide is it at the base?

For sure, it's got some great potential. It has a lot of potential for more than just knitting!

I really like it - more than I would think I'd like a metal bowl. But it's classy, and I don't have to worry about smashing it. I want. ;-)

Oh for sure!! How heavy is it? I wonder if it would stand up to curious kitty paws better than a pottery one?

I love the yarn bowl! Personally, I would like to see it with a smaller opening and a little wider in the center so your yarn is secured a bit more inside the bowl. I also like and would buy it the way you have it.

I am interested in the metal bowl because there would be less drag on the yarn. Ceramic could be damaging on a loopy or fragile yarn. Whereas I do not think metal would snag it at all.

Will this bowl rust, I was thinking that I might be able to use them in the nail salon. Is that possible?

I'd buy one if it was heavy and not tippy, more narrow at the top or straight sided. When pulled the yarn has a tendency to hop around. Try it. Also if you could 'swirl/curve' the yarn hole a little more so the yarn will stay in the opening. More like a pig's tail. You can see what I mean by googling other yarn bowls. It would have to be slick and majorly non-snagging. Otherwise, it looks gorgeous!!! It would be cool in an oxidized copper color too! How much?
