Happy New Year 01/05/2009
![]() It's a new year - and I can't believe that weeks and weeks have gone by without my showing off the giant head I made in ceramics! Forgive the coloring of the main photo; I took it at night with no natural light - it's big - we had to make the pieces at least 12" high before firing. Ceramics lose about 12% of their size in the firing process, and even after that this one is over 13" tall! :) - ![]() I also felted the slippers I was working on - they fit Gregg's feet perfectly and they're super fun to make... I made a second set but haven't photographed them yet... all in good time... CommentsMon, 05 Jan 2009 11:34:15 I've given up on scarves for the foreseeable future... they started to feel more like purgatory than knitting, and that's just no fun. Clogs, on the other hand, are totally where it's at! Mon, 05 Jan 2009 16:39:58 Very cool!!! I really should look into a real slipper pattern for my dad, I was going ot do socks and felt them but .... it scares me. Mon, 05 Jan 2009 19:23:06 I'm with you! I made two pairs for my Christmas knitting and they are MUCH faster than scarves. I finished one pair on one Saturday. I think I am going to knit me a pair too since I had to buy the pattern and all! It was worth it though. Thu, 08 Jan 2009 18:02:28 I don't know if you ever watched "Third Rock from the Sun", but the William Shatner character was the Big Giant Head. I don't think you could put things in his head, though. I suspect that the ego takes up all the available space. Your head is way too cool.
