                            Merry Christmas! 12/25/2008

Just a quick post to wish everyone the best of holidays - we're not even awake yet - haven't opened presents - I wanted to send a photo of my tree bedecked with its white boas as garland... and show you what it looked like this year.. 9' tall and fake (thank you, Target!) - my fav. ornaments this year are still the 2 collars from my childhood doggies, Otis and Sugar - two peekingese doggies who filled my family's lives with joy and love for many many years...

This is Gregg's tree - vintagy and fun - he calls it his crazy tree... we only put up 2 this year (only?) - and we have enjoyed them every day.  We don't know when we'll take them down... probably a few weeks into the new year.  The last photo I'm putting in here is the one of my nutcrackers... I have quite a few now... we add some each year - they're fun and silly and it is so easy to collect them.  The biggest problem with holiday decorations is storing them - they take up a lot of space!

Have a wonderful holiday - take a minute and call your relatives to tell them you're thinking of them - it's getting close to the new year - it's time to focus on the good we're all going to do together in 2009!  Thank you for sharing part of your time with me and for reading my ramblings.  It's so wonderful to have had the chance to get to know so many amazing people through the internet!  OK OK - time to go open presents!!!

                            XOXOX

                            Kyle

Merry Christmas!!!! I love the idea of using collars of passed-on pets to remember the good times.
My lil Tripsie is too much of a hellion to put up a tree, it was hard enough wrapping with her around ;)

Merry belated Christmas. I love your tree! Thanks for sharing the pics. I also love the fact that you've kept Otis' and Sugar's collars and that you decorate the tree with them. I keep the collar of my beloved rotti "Ruffneck" hanging from the roll bar of my Jeep. I imagine how he would have loved to ride in the front seat with me; top down and his tongue flapping around in the breeze while trying to bite at the air :)

Merry late Christmas! Thanks for the pictures of your trees. I told Mike that I was not the only crazy one who put up more than one tree, and he agreed, I'm not the only crazy one...
Personally, I don't like nutcrackers. As my son Andy says, they kinda creep me out.
As far as storage goes, Rubbermaid man. That's where it's at.
                            Happy New Year!

Thanks for the note and Merry Xmas and Happy Hanukah to you and yours! I got my second tree ever this year! My husband loves to tell the story of how his Jewish wife went insane over her first tree (two years ago...)... I was so excited when we came home with it, I made him go to Target at 10:30 at night to get lights, then we stayed up till all hours decorating it. This year, I used the excuse that we needed a tree for the kittens. And, really, they do LOVE it. And, of course, so do I. There's nothing like having something inside the house that should be outside in the forest. And it smells so good.
